Emilia Romagna Wine Tour
Emilia Romagna entices with exciting wines, and I am delighted to invite you to my fifth culinary and scenic wine discovery tour, right in the heart of Emilia Romagna’s most beautiful wine-growing regions. The Emilia Romagna region is also known worldwide as Italy’s “Food Valley” due to the diversity of its typical products and recipes.
For the first two nights, we will be staying at a wine resort with a swimming pool, which is one of the best in Italy. First, there will be an introduction to the Romagna region with a Sangiovese vertical spanning seven vintages. We will enjoy Romagna specialties such as Sangiovese DOC, but also native varieties such as Barbarossa, Albana DOCG, Pagadebit, etc. There will be wines served at banquets in the White House, wines poured in the Vatican, and even one that was served at the Nobel Prize dinner.
In Emilia, we’ll be staying overnight at a 4* hotel in Modena. We’ll sample some excellent Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC and Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC, and we’ll also get an insight into the production of Aceto Balsamico di Modena.we’ll travel from Zurich (with pick-up in Singen and Bellinzona) to northern Italy in a modern coach.

Program
Coach journey from Zurich to Bertinoro in Emilia Romagna. Upon arrival, we’ll begin with a Romagna wine seminar, including a Sangiovese vertical tasting of seven vintages, organized by the “Vini di Romagna / Vini di Bertinoro“.
Afterwards, a short drive to Predappio follows, where we check into the Borgo Condé Wine Resort. The Borgo Condé Wine Resort, with its outdoor pool, is located in the middle of its own 110-hectare vineyard in Fiumana di Predappio. This wine resort gained international acclaim in 2015 when Ferrari unveiled the new Ferrari 488 Spider, rented the entire resort, and invited journalists from all over the world. There are also three highly recommended restaurants here: Il Borgo, Il Sangiovese, and the Osteria.
Now we’re looking forward to dinner at Ristorante Il Borgo. A multi-course menu awaits us. Various white and red wines from the Condé winery will be served with each course.
If tiredness doesn’t settle in after the good meal, we can enjoy a glass of wine at the bar.
On Friday morning, after breakfast, we’ll first receive an introduction to the Tenuta Condé winery. This will be followed by a tasting of the wines from Tenuta Condé, Nicolucci (Fattoria Casetto dei Mandorli – Romagna Sangiovese Riserva with 3 Bicchieri in Gambero Rosso), and Tenuta Pandolfa. Afterwards, we’ll take a look at Nicolucci’s historic wine cellar.
Next, we’ll head to the traditional Fattoria Paradiso Winery, whose wines are regularly served at events in the White House and the Vatican. Winery tour, tasting, and quick lunch.
Next, we’ll visit the Campo del Sole winery, the Giovanna Madonia Farm , and the Celli winery. The wine tasting from these three wineries will take place at Celli.
For dinner, we’ll enjoy a multi-course menu at the Osteria Enoteca Ca’ de Vè , offered by the “Vini di Romagna / Vini di Bertinoro” consortium. This will be accompanied by exciting wines from the region. After returning to the wine resort, we can meet briefly at the bar before bedtime.
Day 3
On Saturday morning, after breakfast, we’ll check out and drive to the Azienda Vitivinicola “Fattoria Moretto” winery in Castelvetro di Modena. After a tour, we’ll taste Fabio and Fausto’s Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC.
We continue to the Cleto Chiarli winery, which boasts a very long tradition. A wine tasting (Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC) is planned, followed by a quick lunch at the winery.
On Sunday morning, after breakfast, we will check out and head to the Cavicchioli winery dating back to 1928 in San Prospero. We’ll start with a wine seminar organized by the Consortium Tutela del Lambrusco di Modena. This will be followed by a tasting of Cavicchioli’s Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC.
